“I think the animals were kept here” – Polish pilgrims assessed the conditions on the legendary trail

Every year, thousands of pilgrims travel the Way of St. James – besides from Poland. How do they view the conditions on a way of respective 100 kilometers?

Loopers, who one more time cross the way to Santiago de Compostela, note that the conditions in the shelters on the way are better than a fewer years ago. Still, there is simply a deficiency of luxury and even the Spartan character of the infrastructure, which has its charm: “When we walked for the first time 18 years ago, the shelters were very dirty. Now, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, you can see a crucial improvement, for erstwhile we came to sleep in a building where animals were most likely kept before" – we read the statements of Polish pilgrims quoted by PAP.

The way leading to Santiago de Compostela, the celebrated St. James' Way, has enjoyed popularity among Christian pilgrims for centuries. In 1993, the way was included in the UNESCO planet Heritage List. In 2024 it was passed by more than 7 1000 buds from Poland.
