Minister of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak reported that Sławomir Cenckiewicz, a candidate for the head of the National safety Bureau, has a revoked safety clearance by the service. The case went to an administrative court that acknowledged the errors in the procedure. Cenckiewicz besides has allegations of disclosure of state secrecy in connection with the defensive plan "Warta".

In early July, president Elekt Karol Nawrocki announced that Sławomir Cenckiewicz would be the head of the National safety Bureau. He is the erstwhile manager of the Military Historical Office and a erstwhile associate of the College of the Institute of National Memory.

During the Saturday press briefing, Minister Tomasz Siemoniak confirmed that the candidate for head of the BBN did not have a certificate of access to secret documents. His safety clearance was revoked by the service and the appeal against that decision was considered negative.

The court found errors in the procedure

The case was placed in an administrative court that ruled that errors were made in the procedure. The services are presently awaiting a judgement with justification to be able to take a final position. "The court concluded that mistakes were made, but we do not know what" - said the head of the Ministry of Interior.

Siemoniak assured that the interior safety Agency is governed solely by government and not by politics. He stressed that until Cenckiewicz could take office the legal state would be "absolutely clear".

Allegations regarding the Worth plan

An additional problem is criminal charges against the NSA chief candidate. In May, the territory Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw accused Cenckiewicz of declassified part of Poland's "Warta" defence plan - the concept of defence against the possible attack of Russia.

Cenckiewicz did not admit to committing the alleged crime and refused to give explanations. He is facing imprisonment from 1 to 10 years - the same as erstwhile head of the MON Mariusz Błaszczak (PiS).

Cooperation with Błaszczak

According to the prosecutor's office in late July 2023, Cenckiewicz helped Błaszczak commit a violation of his rights. This was intended to benefit the Law and Justice. The crime was to abolish the clause "Tightly Secret" and "Secret" from fragments of operational planning documents, including the "Warta" plan.

Błaszczak then published declassified fragments on the authoritative PiS profile on the X platform. The prosecution claims that it acted thus "to the detriment of the public interest and caused highly serious harm to Poland".

Last July Cenckiewicz informed about the reception of military safety certificates by the Counterintelligence Service. In June of that year he announced that the Provincial Administrative Court in Warsaw had repealed the decisions of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and head of SKW Jarosław Storóżyk on the withdrawal of his statement.

Cenckiewicz himself said he was "sudden of charges" and got them for the movie "Reset" with Michał Rachon, in which he revealed plans to retreat to the Vistula line in case of war.
