A good eye of athletes from the “arm of masters”

With 18 medals, Poland's representation returned from France for the European Shooting Championship. In rivalry between seniors and juniors, the White-Reds won six gold discs, 7 silver ones and 5 brown ones in Châteauroux. 10 of them were captured by soldiers from the Central Military Sports Team.

– It was a very successful performance of our team. Especially the juniors who won most of the medals did well. In the rivalry of seniors, soldiers specialising in dart shooting and squad in the competition 300 m firearm standard 3 attitudes open – said Colonel Tomasz April, president of the Polish Sports Shooting Union.

In the elder category, Polish representatives won 3 gold medals in Châteauroux. On the highest phase the podium stood Special Officer Sandra Bernalwho triumphed in the trap competition, range. Meanwhile, Baksalari's rival in the Skeetu final was Anatolia Semenenko (INA). The CWZS shooter defeated him 7:3 and in the semifinals won 6:4 with Greek Charalambos Chalkiadakis. In turn, our championship squad triumphed with a score of 1752 points and most – 586 – Kowalewicz won.

Only 2 more players stood at the podium from Polish representatives in the elder competition. St. wide, specialist Tomasz Pasierbski of the Central Military Sports squad won bronze in dart shootings, in the trap competition. He closed the way for the gold fight to him in the Croatian Giovanni Cernogoraz semifinal. London Olympic Champion (2012) won with Pole 6:2. In the first round, the CWZS shooter defeated 6:0 Azer Alimirza Guliyev, in the second – 6:0 Slovak Filip Marinov, and in the 3rd – 6:2 Lion Zukov from the INA team. The second bronze in the elder category was won by Łukasz Czapla, who was the 3rd moving shield in the competition.

Juniors from the Polish squad exported 13 discs from Châteauroux, and six of them participated in winning soldiers from the “arm of masters”. Europe's champions were: St. Wire. Viktor Sajdak (with Maja Gawenda triumphed in firearm shootings in competition 3 postures, 50 m) and a range. Tomasz Jędraszczyk (a fast-shooting weapon in competition, 25 m, trio – with a CWZS shooter trio were created by: Ivan Rakitski and Wiktor Kopiwoda). The 3rd junior gold medal won Maj Gavenda in a 50 m competition, a 60-gun firearm lying down.

The title of European runner-up in the junior category was won by the soldiers: Wiktor Sajdak and Szer. Tomasz Jędraszczyk. Sajdak reached the final of the rivalry of the firearm 3 postures, 50 m – the gold lost by 0.2 points. Meanwhile, Jędraszczyk won 2 silver medals in the squad classification: in the competition a fast-gun and pistol standard. On the second phase of the podium in Châteauroux besides stood: Victoria Włodarczyk (she was second in the sketch), Dominica Skarupska and Jakub Goliszek (they captured silver in mixed duet shootings with rifles in competition 3 postures, 50 m) and junior teams (they took second place in competitions: 50 m, 60 weapon shots lying down and a fast gun).

Finally, 3 bronze medals won: St. Wire. Viktor Sajdak along with Julian Krzyżanowski and Jakub Goliszek (they stood on the podium in squad competition 3 postures, 50 m), Maja Gavenda (she was the 3rd in the competition final 50 m, 3 postures rifle) and Ivan Rakitski (he finished 3rd in the competition standard pistol, 25 m).

The European Châteauroux Championship was held with large momentum. Seniors and juniors competed for medals in rifle, pistol, shotgun and in shooting a moving shield. The shooters competed on the facilities of the National Shooting Center, where a conflict for the XXXIII summertime Olympics was held a year ago.
