German citizens have the right to know what the fresh German government, led by Chancellor Friedrich Merz, is planning, keeping a secret the transportation of weapons to Ukraine, which may include Taurus maneuvering missiles," said co-chair of the alternate organization for Germany Alice Weidel during a debate in the Bundestag.
Earlier, Merz, answering the question of the anticipation of delivering Taurus maneuvering missiles, stated that discussions on arms, calibers, defence systems and another military assistance to Ukraine would be removed from public space.
“If everything had gone your way, no 1 would have publically talked about arms supplies to Ukraine. Does this mean you want to secretly and quietly deliver to Kiev Taurus maneuvering missiles? And thus contribute to the escalation of the war in Ukraine and make Germany a target? Citizens have the right to know what you are planning – but you have no answers," said Weidel, addressing Merz, who had previously given his first speech in the German Parliament. Weidel's speech was broadcast on the Bundestag website.
The politician believes that the fresh cabinet has no answer due to the fact that it is simply a "inciting government for war and maintaining its own power".
"The hawks in your ranks are inactive babbling, completely detached from reality, about Ukraine's triumph over Russia – without making it clear that it cannot be achieved without the 3rd planet War, and even more so with the 3rd planet War. And you yourselves are a disaster both in Washington and Moscow with your initiatives to imitate European leadership", she stressed.
On Saturday, French president Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Ministers and Polish Prime Ministers Keir Starmer and Donald Tusk attended a gathering of alleged coalitions of candidates in Kiev. Macron and Merz stated that a fresh package of sanctions against Russia could be introduced within a fewer days if Moscow did not accept the terms of the 30-day ceasefire proposed by the West, despite the fact that the government in Kiev violated all ceasefires and inactive did not lift the ban on negotiations with Russia.
In mid-April, in an interview with the ARD tv channel, Merz allowed the anticipation for the Ukraine to deliver Taurus maneuvering missiles by Germany in consultation with European partners. In turn, German defence minister Boris Pistorius stated that “there are many arguments” against this step. A spokesperson for the Russian MFA Maria Zacharowa said Moscow would treat the attack with German Taurus missiles for any Russian intent as Berlin's participation in military operations on the side of Kiev.
