Before the second circular of the presidential election, Grzegorz Braun sent candidates a set of 7 detailed questions and postulates. Anyone seeking the highest office in the state was to answer. Trzaskowski's staff did not react, but Karol Nawrocki sent his position on Sunday.
Braun's postulates afraid fundamental ideological, worldview and geopolitical issues. He asked, among others, about opposition to sending Polish soldiers to Ukraine, condemnation of flagism, termination of EU migration and environmental pacts and opposition to abortion, euthanasia or forced vaccination. The conditions besides included the call for the settlement of government actions from 2020 to 202022 and the request for exhumation in Jedwabne and the rejection of judaic property claims.
Nawrocki replies: “I agree with most of the demands”
The candidate supported by the PiS referred to all points. He declared, among others, that he would not support sending Polish troops to Ukraine, advocates the penalisation of the flagism and demands the full approval of Kiev to exhume victims of the Volyn massacre. He stressed that he wanted to end the war rapidly in Ukraine.
In interior matters, Nawrocki assured that he would support the unilateral denunciation of the EU's migration pact and the Green Deal, which he estimated would harm Polish economy and agriculture. He besides declared protection of life from conception to natural death and opposition to family-threatening ideology.
Referring to the pandemic, he noted that he did not support the most restrictive solutions (such as closing churches or forests), but felt that the government had saved millions of jobs at the time. In his opinion, vaccinations outside the calendar should stay voluntary.
As for controversial historical and identity themes, Nawrocki stated that war claims should be directed to Berlin alternatively than Warsaw. He besides recalled that he took his attachment to Christian values very seriously and intended to proceed promoting national traditions. He besides announced the defence of Poland's good name against accusations from people specified as Jan Grabowski, Jan Tomasz Gross and Barbara Engelking.
The reaction of the Confederation of the Polish Crown
Braun's group appreciated that Nawrocki was the only 1 to respond to the appeal, but commented that his answers "half did not mention to the content of the questions". On the 1 hand, affirmative declarations were recorded, including regarding flagism or the protection of life. On the another hand, it was noted that the PiS candidate did not make the euthanasia and exhumation issues clear in Jedwabne.
The strongest criticism was erstwhile assessing the consequence to the request to settle the government's actions from the pandemic years. Braun's organization warned that Nawrock's presidency would mean "a warrant to repeat the fatal actions of the Morawiecki–Duda duo".
The final conclusion of the group was dramatic: “God defend Poland all over!”
