Fundraising and auctions are frequently conducted during performances. Comic Anton Tymoshenko in an interview with the BBC said that "stand-up is simply a budget version of psychotherapy". He admits that he tries with humor to relieve social tension and is happy whenever he succeeds. Another popular artist, Nastya Zukhvala, claims that Russia's invasion accelerated the growth of Ukrainian stand-up. He says that to keep common sense, you gotta laughter a lot.
