The order for the Harimau tanks (local name Kaplan MT) was submitted by Indonesia in 2019 at IDEF, erstwhile it was announced that their production was started by the local PT Pindad company and Turkish FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş. An first 18 copies were to be delivered under the contract, the first 10 cars of which were to be created in Turkey. The creation of the remaining 8 was to be the work of the Indonesian entity.
