On June 14, this year, in Przemyśl, the second oath of the soldiers of the 20th Przemysl Territorial Defence Brigade took place.
The words of the military oath's rota were spoken by 50 volunteers from the area of action of the 20th Przemysl Territorial Defence Brigade, who are willing to defender the independence, safety and sovereignty of the Homeland. recently sworn soldiers have just completed basic training. Among them were young and old, working and learning, who
during their free time, they decided to survey the basics of military craft, including shooting, tactics, rules of conduct in the field of combat, first aid, communication or topography.
Speaking to the soldiers gathered in the square, commander of 20th Przemysl Territorial Defence Brigade, Colonel Daniel BŁOTKO congratulated recently sworn soldiers on their decision to join the ranks of the Polish Army. During the ceremony, the Brigade was awarded the Polish Army Flag, which is simply a peculiar discrimination for the military unit. On this occasion, the Brigade Commander quoted Marshal Joseph Piłsudski as “Honor of service is frequently at odds with individual honor. But honor of service is like the banner of a soldier with whom a soldier parts with life. [...] . Without honor, military service is always soulless and losing its strength.”
This act is for soldiers of the Przemysl brigade a minute which for each of them will be remembered forever, due to the fact that the banner is simply a symbol for the soldier of faithfulness, honor and valor, as well as a symbol of the unity and tradition of the military unit in which he serves. It is the object of the highest respect and the work of the soldier is to defender and defend it. Elements on the flag pay mention to tradition, and their fields contain symbols related to the Territorial Defence Army and symbolism 20 of the Industrial Territorial Defence Brigade.
The WOT as the only kind of armed force offers the chance to conveniently reconcile science, work and household responsibilities with the service to the Homeland and local community. OT soldiers can learn, work, or survey and at the same time carry out military service, thus gaining fresh experiences.
- I'm sorry. I always wanted to be a soldier. I joined the Territorial Defence Army due to the fact that I wanted to test my capabilities and limits of endurance - said 1 of the fresh soldiers of the 20th Przemysl OT Brigade, a resident under the Przemysl village, just after the ceremony ended.
The recently sworn soldiers will now start a three-year training cycle in 1 of the 20 PBOT divisions located in Przemyśl. Training will take place in rotational form on weekends, at least 2 days a month. Soldiers who have had a minimum of a year of service in the ranks of 20 PBOT may apply for admission to professional military service in the corps of officers, officers, and private soldiers.
At the same time, the oath and handing of the flag on 14 June this year is besides the time of the celebration of the brigade, which falls on 15 June. This date is not accidental due to the fact that in 1938 Colonel Stefan Rowecki, the patron of the Przemysl Brigade, transferred his duties to his successor and in 2022 Colonel Daniel Błotko assumed the duties of commander
