The university's having its vacation today. At the solemn appeal of the staff of the Academy, acts of appointment for higher military degrees were presented, among others, state medals and distinctions of the Rector.

At the invitation of the authorities of the Academy of War Art to Rembertov, among others, military commanders, representatives of the management of the Ministry of Defence, representatives of military universities, local government, lecturers came. The festival became an chance to remind the aims and tasks of the university.

He stressed that the training process was planned to "make decisions on the front line and in command centres, at the negotiating table and in crisis management". The Rector besides pointed out that AszWoj combines various perspectives: military, civil, technological and social, thus serving as a strategical analytical base that explores contemporary threats.

Mieczysław Gocuł besides mentioned about plans to transform universities into National safety University. This is to be the institution which, thanks to its teaching and investigation activities, will become the main centre of Polish strategical thought, technological innovation and intellectual survey of safety research.

He thanked the lecturers and graduates of AszWoj Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish. In a letter sent to the university, the Minister of Defence emphasized her "invaluable contribution to the improvement of the Polish Army".

During the ceremony, university staff were given the appointments for higher military degrees. Individuals associated with the Academy were awarded state and departmental medals and rector distinctions.

Academy of War Art is the largest civil-military university in Poland. Its celebration is June 15, the anniversary of the establishment of the General Staff School in 1919, later renamed the Higher War School, whose traditions are inherited by the Academy.

In the academic year 2024/2025 in AszWoj in 12 directions, about 2,400 students were educated, including 1,100 first year, 45 PhD students and 250 students of civilian postgraduate studies.
