On Saturday, 467 graduates of five-year studies and a six-month officer course for the AWL officers stood at Wroclaw Freedom Square. Representatives of the highest military personnel took part in the ceremony of their promotion to the first degree: Operational Commander of the Armed Forces Gen. Div. This year he was awarded to Lieutenant Anita Janik-Szmitka, who graduated from the AWL in the direction of command, specialization: anti-aircraft artillery. – I am very happy with both the discrimination and the full celebration. This is definitely the most crucial day of my professional life. This promotion is simply a large emotion for me, especially since my loved ones and friends have come from the family. I am very happy – says Janik-Szmitka. She admitted that she felt a small sorry for her outgoing student life. “I owe the students a lot: large friendships, the chance to train under the supervision of the best specialists, abroad trips that gave me a lot. It's hard to part with a man's life.but this is the order of things," he adds.

Lieutenant Anita Janik-Szmitka has been waiting for duties in the rank of platoon commander since Monday. I'm very pleased. I got a position in a very good unit – in the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade. The promotion took place in this city due to the fact that in the local Centre for Artillery and Armed Forces Training already present lieutenants were educated. It was the first officer promotion in this town in 23 years. The Army was represented by Brig. Gen. Grzegorz Potrzuski, Head of the Board of Planning and improvement of the Armed Forces of the General Staff of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and on behalf of the university was attended by the manager of Teaching Affairs AWL, Colonel Dr. Norbert Świętochowski, Prof. AWL.
