This year a batch of additional bulletproof KKZ-01/K4 vests will be sent to the units. On Friday, the Armed Forces Agency signed with their manufacturer, Maskpol, an annex to the agreement of 2023, expanding the first order by almost 10,000 copies of this individual equipment. The value of the signed contract is about PLN 113 million.
KKZ-01/K4 bulletproof vest is simply a modular plan of the plate carrier type, in which the The ballistic protection of the soldier wearing it responds peculiar hard cartridges. The vest in the standard version KKZ-01/K4 protects against shrapnels and missiles of 7.62 x 39 mm and 5.56 x 45 mm. But hers user can importantly increase the level of protection by assembling additional soft ballistic contributions covering the larynx, neck, shoulders, arms and abdomen.
Importantly, designers from Maskpol besides took care of the ergonomics and functionality of KKZ-01/K4. The soldiers can attach more than 20 different types of equipment, including loaders, trays or discharge bags, thanks to the PALS belt on the vest.
KKZ-01/K4 vests are already equipped with the Polish army. In April 2023 the Armed Forces Agency ordered respective tens of thousands of them for the sum of PLN 490 million. The deliveries should be made by the end of this year.
The Armed Forces Agency informed on social media that on June 6, 2025, it signed an annex to the contract 2 years ago with Maskpol S.A.. This will bring an extra batch of almost 10 1000 vests to the units. For the equipment to be transferred to military retention facilities by the end of the year, The Treasury will pay PLN 113 million.
