On 12.06.2025, a visit to the WOT Training Centre was held by Deputy Commander of the Illinois National Guard, General Leonard Williams, whose aim was to familiarize himself with the trainings carried out as part of the Critical cognition Exchange and to establish details of future cooperation.
This kind of exercise is very crucial to us. We have been cooperating with Poland since 1993. Our soldiers know each another very well, even from a mission in Afghanistan. Thanks to specified actions we can exchange experiences with each other, and this is crucial in the interests of safety - said the gene. Leonard Williams of-a commander of the Illinois National Guard.
As part of a visit to the WOT Training Centre, General Williams had the chance to watch courses and trainings and learn about modern weapons systems in collaboration with US instructors. The arrival of the Deputy Commander of the National defender was besides an excellent chance to hold joint talks with the Commander of the Territorial Defence Army – Brig. Gen. Dr. Krzysztof Stańczyk, during which the issues of future cooperation, course and training were discussed.
As far as plans for the improvement of our cooperation are concerned, we are planning to make the training next year and join any additional elements in the form of courses dedicated to engineering troops and the introduction of fresh solutions in the field of training of operators ppk. As part of the cooperation with the Illinois National defender so far, the WOT Training Center has carried out respective twelve editions of courses where more than a 1000 soldiers from the various Territorial Defence Brigades from all over the country have been trained. It is besides worth to add that Polish-American military cooperation is carried out in many areas simultaneously. An example of specified activities was the participation of WOT Training Center soldiers in the "Best Warrior Competition" competition held in early April at the Sparta Training Area training centre in Illinois. In these competitions, the Polish Territorials achieved historical success by taking 2 places in the category of a sub-commander as well as a private.
