Corporal David serves at the typical Centre of the Territorial Defence Forces. He performs regular with the WOT Representation Orchestra. However, his mission goes far beyond uniform and phase – due to the fact that 3 years ago he decided to become a bone marrow donor.
Betty, a resident of St. Luis, United States, has been active throughout her life, passionate and committed. In her youth, she played flute in the marching orchestra and worked in the aircraft factory. erstwhile she became ill, it was revealed that the only chance of endurance was a bone marrow transplant, and the search for a donor began. Due to the very uncommon blood kind and circumstantial genetic features, uncovering the right donor was highly difficult.
It was at that time that it turned out that in Poland, thousands of kilometres away, the database of possible donors was a perfect match – David. Without hesitation, he made the decision to donate the bone marrow. On 6 April 2022 a download procedure was held in Warsaw. It was a simple motion for David.
It's been 3 years since the transplant. With Betty's treatment, she regained her strength, returned to everyday life, and dreamed of gathering the man who helped her. In May 2025, destiny – or actually music – connected their paths. Corporal David, along with the WOT Representation Orchestra, flew to Chicago for concerts to celebrate Constitution 3 May. There, in the presence of tears of emotion and sounds of the orchestra, David and Betty first met face to face.
Corporal David doesn't consider himself a hero. He says he did what he should have done. But his attitude inspires. It shows that each of us can influence someone's life. Just registry as a donor and... wait for that call.
The Representation Centre of the Territorial Defence Forces based in Radom has been in operation since 4 December 2023.
