The celebrations of the Military Academy Aviation Jubilee were organized in Dęblin at the monument “Bohater pilots of the Oakland School of Orląt”. The ceremony took place with the participation of, among others, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, WP commanders and local authorities. The event was framed by the Air Force Honorary Company.
– Eagles have always served the Republic – said Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamish. – The School of Orląt, its symbol, soldiers, pilots, all those who are today, and those who have been participants in this large communicative in the past, all of them constitute the pride of the Republic," emphasized the head of the MON. He assured that Poland was grateful to the present and previous generations, due to the fact that – as the Deputy Prime Minister said – they chose to survey in Dęblin to build the future and the safety of the country. He besides referred to the always more frequent cases of breach of the country's airspace, to the provocation over the Baltic, which is allowed by the Russian Federation and Belarus. – We are a state of peace, we want peace, but peace requires the best air force to defend ourselves, the best army and the strength of society. I know you're ready for everything for your country. You spend your time, your energy, your skills. You are ready to give your life for your country. He informed that Polish F-35 production began in the USA during those days. He besides said that next week Apache's first aircraft would arrive at the base in Inowrocław. Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the increasing interest in the university and about investments that are already taking place and those planned.
President Andrzej Duda in a letter read during the ceremony emphasized the importance of the Aviation Military Academy as a centre cultivating the glorious heritage of Polish air force. As he pointed out, pilots and maintenance crew specialists here are not only heirs of tradition, but besides users of the highest-generation equipment. He stressed the importance of training on unmanned aircraft as an crucial component of military aviation. The president besides congratulated the university's prestige, which is the consequence of the work of teaching staff and a squad of academy staff.
Rector-commandant of the Military Academy General Brig. pil. Krzysztof Cur stressed that it has been here for a 100 years that the heart of Polish aviation has been beating. Happy years is simply a glorious age of history, tradition and service. It's a communicative of thousands of people who have fulfilled their dreams in the walls of this university, rising above mediocrity, beyond everyday life, beyond their own limitations. In school they learned not only to fly, but above all how to professionally and reliably prepare for the officer's service. It was here that the celebrated pilots, aces of hunting aviation and excellent commanders began their aviation adventure, for whom the service of the country was an honor, not a duty," he said. The General pointed out that thanks to the efforts of the teaching staff, the engagement of the commanders and instructors and the hard work of the subjects, the Orląt School is and will always stay a symbol of the highest standards of aviation craft.
During the ceremony, commemorative badges were awarded to people who deserved to cultivate the tradition of the air force and military education, and WP medals and LAW commemorative badges were presented.
The academy itself received the 550th anniversary of the Lublin Voivodeship Medal “for its invaluable contribution to activities supporting the improvement of the region”.
At the sounds of the national anthem, the assembled guests could admire the craftsmanship of the pilots of the Akroblik squad on PZL 130 aircraft from the 42nd School Aviation Base, who flew over the heads of the gathered. The Appeal of the Deceases was read and the salute was given. The ceremony ended with a parade drill show performed by the Honorary Air Force Company and a military defilade.
Orląt School is the only institution in Poland to educate candidates for military pilots. He conducts military and civilian studies in 2 faculties: Aviation and Aviation Safety and in 2 Institutes: Navigation and Logistics and Transport, in six directions: Aviation and Space, Navigation, Air Safety Engineering, Logistics, Transport, National Security. In the university there are postgraduate studies, training as part of officers' courses for graduates of civilian universities, as well as qualification and improvement courses for professional soldiers, as well as training of reserve staff. presently in LAW, air education collects more than 1140 subjects and about 700 civilian students.
