The Siatkarska Polish representation did not neglect at the inauguration of the European championship. The title's defenders must have defeated Portugal 3:0 and with triumph they started competing in Group B. The tournament's stakes are highly advanced this time, due to the fact that after changing regulations the European champion will play at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
The white-reds defeated Portugal 3:0 (25:12, 25:18, 25:22). “We went out and did our job,” said the host Artur Szalpuk.
In the second gathering of the group Ukraine won with Israel 3:1, which will be another rival of Poles – already on Saturday at 3 p.m.
This year's European championship is held in Finland, Romania, Bulgaria and Italy. Poles will play their group matches and the possible way to the quarterfinals in Sofia, while decisive meetings will be held in Milan.
