"In the interest of the safety of the Republic of Poland, all procedures to strengthen the protection of the Polish airspace were immediately initiated. The operation of Polish and allied aviation began, and ground-based air defence and radio-location systems reached a state of highest readiness. The measures taken are preventive in nature and service to guarantee the safety of citizens and to defend national borders, peculiarly in areas adjacent to the hazard zone.
