We took with large sadness the news of the death of Mr. Leszek Długosz, a hot patriot with whom we were joined by a joint unrepentant wound - the Smoleńska Disaster.
Leszek Długosz (born 1941) was a poet, actor, singer, composer, pianist. From 1965 to 1978 he co-founded a cabaret in the Piwnica Pod Baranami in Krakow. He was the Knight of the Order of the White Eagle. Author of respective volumes of poetry, writer and columnist of the weekly “Networks” and monthly “Written”.
From 2009 he was a associate of the Social Committee for the Restoration of the Monuments of Krakow (SKOZK). He was honored, among others, with the title of Master of Polish Speech Vox Populi, Commander's Cross of the Order of Polish Revival, Silver Medal "Favored Culture Gloria Artis", Medal of the Centennial Recovered independency and Order of the White Eagle. In 2022 he was awarded the Minister of Culture Award for his full work. In 2007, he ran for the PiS for Senate. In 2010 he became a associate of the Krakow Social Support Committee Jarosław Kaczyński in the presidential election.
He died today, March 23, in Krakow after fighting cancer.
