Zelenski wants to aid countries affected by the food crisis

Volodymyr Zelenski decided to set up a working group to prepare proposals to aid countries affected by the acute food crisis.

Working Group Volodymyr Zelenski president of the Chancellery of the president of Ukraine Andrij Jermak. It was composed of representatives of the Office of the Chief of State, the Cabinet of Ministers and individual state institutions.

In addition, the working group will include representatives from abroad, global organisations and experts who will contribute to the tasks assigned to the group.

Due to the invasion of the Russian Federation on a full scale in the territory Ukraine's number of people in the planet experiencing severe food shortages, according to the UN, will increase by 47 million this year from 276 million to 323 million.

It was Russia's war against Ukraine that caused a serious global food crisis, as food prices are rising worldwide. Ukraine seeks to improve access to food, especially among the poorest and most susceptible groups of the population, providing these countries with Ukrainian cereals.

In accordance with the decree of the President, the working group must draw up and submit proposals for the transportation of Ukrainian agricultural products to countries affected by the acute food crisis.

The working group should besides guarantee monitoring of the effectiveness of aid measures for specified countries.
