Russian leader Vladimir Putin proposed Ukraine a three-day truce, which would last from 7 to 9 May, that is, during the celebrations of the end of planet War II crucial to Russia. Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski rejected this proposal and considered it a "theatral staging to make an impression of Russia's exit from isolation". Ukraine offered something else instead.
