Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski announced that on Monday he would visit Washington at the invitation of Donald Trump to discuss the end of the war with Russia.
According to White home spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, Trump had a long telephone call with Zelenski during a return flight from Alaska. Zelenski himself described it as a “content”. The conversation took place after a Friday gathering between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
Zelenski supported the thought of trilateral talks between Ukraine and the US-Russia and pointed out that he wanted to discuss with Trump all key issues related to the war. He besides stressed the importance of Europe's participation in Ukraine's safety arrangements and affirmative signals from the US.
"I intend to discuss all the details of stopping the murders and ending the war with president Trump on Monday in Washington. I am grateful for the invitation" – we read in the Communication of the Ukrainian president quoted by PAP.
