On Thursday Interia revealed that Ministry of Defence directed to corporate Google Formal request for information available in the service Street View. It's about Unmasked photographs of military units, infrastructure or vehicles on Polish military bases.
On the basis of these, for example, security of the guardhouse military units, reinforcements, deployment of industrial cameras, or even soldiers on defender or their weapons.

In consequence to questions from the Interia portal, the ministry said that "images reflect only situation established at the time the photograph was taken and - importantly - in many cases they come from a fewer years ago, for which they are out of date and do not reflect the current state of infrastructure, nor the current actions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland".
Despite this, MON ensures that it has taken action to hiding all information national security. As it said, it sent to Google Poland "formal proposal concerning the making of masking of safety and defense-relevant facilities in Google Maps, Google Earth and Google Street View services".

"Process of masking objects indicated by ministry was completed in Google Maps and Google Earth services. For Google Street View, masking activities are included currently in preparation for implementation by Google Poland" - reads the message sent to Interia.
"Irrespective of the laws, Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with the competent authorities in the field of State security, performs current monitoring of the sharing of images in sources of information mostly available, in order to guarantee the appropriate level of protection of military facilities" - declared the ministry.
