Not Anders Breivik, but Jan Johansen – informs Norwegian media. The perpetrator of the bloodiest assassination in Norway's past again decided to change his name.
The 47-year-old perpetrator of the Utoeya Island massacre one more time changes his identity – present he is listed in the records as Jan Johansen. This list of names sounds very common in Norway – there are about 600 people all over the country with specified sounding personalities.
Interestingly, it's not the first change of name that Breivik has decided to make. In 2017, he accepted the personalization of Fjotolf Hansen, and later reached for a quasi-staronordic language creation.
Breivik is punished by a judgement of 2012 – the court sentenced him to 21 years of alleged forvaring, i.e. a punishment which can be extended indefinitely if the perpetrator is considered to be inactive a threat. He repeatedly requested early release – last time in 2024. The application was rejected.
In the July 22, 2011, bombings in Oslo and the Utoey Island shooting, 77 people died and more than 300 were injured.
