Return on Zbigniew Ziobry. Pegasus Commission has another plan after the court's decision

The Pegasus Investigative Commission has decided not to complain about the decision of the territory court, which rejected the commission's request to arrest Zbigniew Ziobra. As RMF FM writer Tomasz Skory, president of the committee, Magdalena Magoka, has been unofficially informed, he is to announce this decision today. However, members have a different plan for Ziobra.

On March 31, the Warsaw territory Court decided to reject the proposal of the Pegasus committee, which demanded detention for erstwhile Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobra. It was about "applying a 30-day detention penalty" for notoriously failing to appear on hearings in the Sejm's Pegasus affair committee.

In the message of reasons, the court indicated that, although information on the detention of the witness had been forwarded to the committee, there was no legal basis for the request for detention. The court stated that the committee could proceed the proceeding of Ziebra and that her decision to close the sitting was late.

“The court found that there was no legal basis to take account of the committee’s proposal, but besides referred to Mr Ziobra’s attitude, which he considered highly reprehensible,” said the spokesperson for the criminal court Anna Birdiek.

No complaints. The Commission has another plan for Ziobra

After rejecting the request to arrest the erstwhile Minister of Justice, the committee decided not to file a complaint on the matter. As unofficially found out by Tomasz Skory of RMF FM, the committee after the last defeat does not want to hazard another loss, this time in an appeal court.

However, the members of the committee do not intend to "let go" Ziobrze so easy and have a different plan for him. The erstwhile Minister of Justice will be called again for questioning. His appearance before the committee was scheduled for April 24 at 2:00 p.m.

What's the confusion with Zbigniew Ziebra?

We would like to remind you that the substance of an application for detention and legal complications related to this is due to the conduct of the erstwhile Minister of Justice. In January of that year, Zbigniew Ziobro for the 5th time failed to attend the proceeding before the Pegasus committee, which forced the committee to decide to detain him. The court agreed to bring in the erstwhile Minister of Justice, and the police detained him on 31 January following an interview given on tv Republic.

According to the court's message of reasons, the committee was informed of Ziobra's detention at 10:28 p.m., but the proceeding could not be held because, as the committee stated, he did not appear in the Chamber on time. The court stressed that at the time of the detention and the introduction, the witness was effectively transported to the Sejm building. Nevertheless, the committee refused to wait for him and question him.
