The Mercosur trade agreement is now 1 of the most controversial issues in the EU. In countries with a greater share of agriculture, specified as Poland, it became utilized by the right-wing bogeyman to give electoral votes. However, in the course of the U.S. trade war, countries belonging to the group – Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay (Bolivia remains an associate) – can compensate for the failure of EU exports caused by the 15-percent tariffs applied by the United States.
