No ambition for the position, no contact with the president
When asked by a writer of the Facts about a possible proposal from the Law and Justice to presume the function of Prime Minister, Andrzej Duda stressed that in politics nothing is final and the roads seldom diverge definitively. He besides pointed out that people with experience are aware of the variability of situations and possible scenarios.
He besides recalled that it was the Law and Justice that set him up as their candidate and supported him, thus winning the presidential election. At the same time, he pointed out that the triumph of the United Right camp was the consequence of common cooperation, which both sides benefited from. He felt that, if necessary, a common ground of agreement could be found. He added, however, that it was not known whether specified a proposal would appear at all and, if so, would be considered by him.
The erstwhile president besides pointed out that he was not guided by the ambition to take over as Prime Minister. He pointed out that taking over specified a function in present, highly hard realities would be a serious hazard both politically and in terms of image. He stressed that today's situation is much more complicated than in 2015, erstwhile it included the office of President, and that acting as head of government under specified conditions carries a real threat of failure.
The politician admitted that he is not presently in contact with the president of Law and Justice, due to the fact that there is no request for this, although in political circumstances specified contact could rapidly be established. He besides pointed out that he meets with president Karol Nawrock erstwhile necessary.
