The Polish (although not only) public and social media – after the gathering of the presidents and in Alaska – is overflowing with a wave of full criticism and even average hate.
The full surprise of people who did not announcement that the war on Ukraine was 1 of the elements of the transformation of the multipolar global order marking the end of Western supremacy based on existing liberal and normative values. This is not about justice or legitimacy, but about the arrangement of forces between the centres of strength, the division of spheres of influence and the selfish economical interests. The universality of liberal values is the past.
Today's RealPolitics lesson shows that diplomacy referring to a sense of justice or legal norms, without real "hard force" is only a worshipful talk of people who have forgotten about how to practice politics and what past teaches. Power of argument, I don't know how right it is erstwhile the state has no argument of force. We can proceed to lament the Trump-Putin system, we can call the erstwhile a “Russian agent”, a lunatic or another epithets, the second a criminal, compare it with Adolf H. – only this will not disenchant the real geopolitical reality. She's just like that and the attitude to her shows our framework of action and opportunity.
The fact that Ukraine will pay the price of the American-Russian agreement was and has been known since the beginning of this war – of course all for the sake of deescalating global order! And Poland? We have just rejected the anticipation of negotiations with Belarus – even limited talks, although Donald Trump's administration is doing precisely the opposite. What about Russia? Here we inactive consider ourselves a "warring state" where our politicians truly deficiency the thought of bilateral relations. Meanwhile, non-liberal multipolar global governance contours are being created and a fresh post-war pan-European safety strategy is being outlined with Russia. Of course, we can negate this reality, but it will inactive appeal to us, but then the Others will decide about us without us and show us our place in a row. Then I will stay lamented one more time about betraying the West and complaining about getting the large over our head.
