On 15 August in Żagań, the provincial celebrations of the Polish Army were held. The celebrations included an appeal at General Stanislaw Maczek's Square, the presentation of promotions, medals and the laying of flowers under the statues of armored formations. It is simply a local lesson that Poland's safety starts with memory and real service.
Sailing as a military memorial point
Żagań became the center of the celebration of the Polish Army on 15 August. As stated by the Polish Radio West, during a solemn appeal in the square gen. Stanisława Maczka soldiers took the act of appointment for further military grades, and the distinguished military received medals and distinctions. In a program published by Lubuskie Voivodeship Office The Holy Mass, flowering and military equipment demonstration were besides indicated.
It wasn't just a self-government point in the calendar. Żagań is simply a city powerfully associated with the military, and the presence of the 11th Lubuska Armoured Cavalry Division gives specified celebrations a peculiar burden. Uniform is not a photograph decoration. It is simply a sign of the state's readiness to defend its own borders, its own families and its own order.
1920 memory without empty gestures
The Polish Army is celebrated on the anniversary of the triumph in the conflict of Warsaw. That is why in Żagań the bonds were placed under the monuments of armoured formations fighting for the sovereignty of Poland. Whoever understands 1920 understands that the state does not keep itself in the statements. It maintains the will to fight, to organize and to act quickly.

Not in the tv studio, but in the square, by the banner, alongside the families of soldiers and residents.
Promotion and designation is simply a commitment
Giving promotions and medals during specified a ceremony makes more sense than protocol. The state publically tells the soldier: Your service is seen. The public sees in turn that the army is not an abstract budget item. They are circumstantial people, circumstantial individuals and circumstantial responsibility.
This is peculiarly crucial for Poland. The position between aggressive Russia and an increasingly volatile Europe does not let the comfort of weakness. The military must have equipment, personnel and social facilities. No safety slogan will replace discipline, training and respect for the service.
Black Division and the importance of the region
Lubuska's land has its place in the state's defence system. We didn't happen to describe that The Black Division showed soldiers and equipment in Warsaw. The aggressor reminds us that the army does not be exclusively in central defilements. Its strength is besides built in garrisons, in training grounds, in military families and in cities that live the rhythm of the individual for years.
So understood Polish Army Day is needed. Not as a spectacle, but as a renewal of simple truth: sovereignty has a price. It is paid by those who practice, service and, if necessary, stand between Poland and the threat.
