Soldiers from the 17th Wielkopolska Mechanized Brigade leave for the mission, which returns to these duties after a three-year break. Motorized from the Interunion will replace colleagues from 12 Mechanized Brigade and will service abroad for the next six months.

The Polish contingent mission in Romania is simply a training mission. The task of NATO troops stationed there is to rip off subdivisions, while strengthening the confederate flank of the Alliance and demonstrating presence on its south-eastern runs. The main strength of the Polish contingent will be soldiers from the 15th Poznań Battalion of the Ulanów 17 WBZ, but PKW will besides power uniforms from another units.

The ‘Dunaj ‘24’ was besides a test of fire training of each of the soldiers and the full motorized company, which is equipped with the Rosomak transporter with a 30 mm caliber cannon, anti-tank grenade launchers, 60 mm light mortar, light grenade launchers and device guns. “More than 200 soldiers took part in the certification in late December 2024, almost the full contingent”, added Captain Machnicki.

Poland has been participating in the mission in Romania since 2017, and decisions have been made on this issue at the NATO summit in Warsaw. The first 11 quota changes were issued 17 The Greater Poland Mechanized Brigade. Later 12th Mechanized Brigade took over this obligation. PKW is subordinate to a multi-national battalion combat group, which is part of the Romanian 2nd Infantry Brigade. The main tasks of the contingent are the joint training conducted under the auspices of the Multinational South East Division.
