A hydrogen-powered drone called Yuxiang II, designed by young scientists from the Harbinian Technology Institute in Chongqing (HIT Chongqing), held its maiden flight on June 12th.
The hydrogen-powered drone is the work of a squad of students of the Hydrogen and Low-Emission HIT Chongqing investigation Centre. This squad has already developed 5 hydrogen drones, including Qingou-30, which took its first flight in March of that year.
The Yuxiang II Corps is made of carbon fibre frame, in this frame there is simply a bed for a hydrogen tank. The power origin for 6 drone rotors is simply a advanced power hydrogen fuel cell system. Yuxiang II is simply a device adapted for catapult launches. With hydrogen cells, it is expected to fly for hours and scope a scope of 4 times the equivalent battery powered drones.
In addition to applications in logistics, hydrogen drones specified as Yuxiang II may, among another things, monitor the condition of power lines, gas and oil pipelines, may participate in patrol missions, as well as in rescue actions, or topographical studies, or participate in data collection for agriculture.
Yuxiang II is an experimental construct, 1 of the many solutions that are created and studied in HIT Chongqing. This method college is supported by the Chongqing territory administration Liangjiang fresh Area, which creates conditions to encourage young talent to choose Chingqing as a place of residence and work. Young scientists gain comfortable working conditions and financial support organised by the local administration, Chongqing Liangjiang fresh Area gains projects, many of which gain measurable commercial value.

According to territory administration information, there are presently 46 investigation and R & D institutions in the industrial-technology park built on Lake Mingyue in Chongqing, and their commercialized solutions have so far brought $28 million in revenue.
Hydrogen-powered drones are developed intensively by South Korean companies (Doosan Mobility Innovation),

as well as Singapore and Japan (H3 Dynamics / Toyota Tsusho Nexty Electronics Japan) . Thanks to the matrimony of many technologies, fresh constructions with an expanding working/flight time (from more than 2 hours to more than 5 hours) and an expanding scope are created. This makes drones get fresh possible applications, and the manufacture related to the development, construction and production of drones is becoming an increasingly serious branch of a completely fresh industry.
