– I just left the National safety Council meeting, very successful. In commenting on what I can comment on, that is, the public part and message by the President, it is surely worth noting the very good news of the ability of the Polish authorities to scope a common position for the NATO summit this week.

They were presented in the open part of the National safety Council the basic assumptions of this common, uniform position. Showing that Polish policy is stable, predictable and that these many interior conflicts, visible today, political disputes within the country do not prevent the Polish president and the Polish Prime Minister from being able to talk with 1 voice at global level with our allies.

As a Confederate, we have 1 major appeal to revise this common position and the political line of the Polish authorities on the global phase in general, namely the issue of the admission of Ukraine to NATO. In the public opinion, there are quite a few speeches in the global debate about just creating a road for Ukraine to be admitted to NATO. In fresh days, there has besides been a very mediocre statement, in our opinion, by the current Secretary-General of NATO, who said that he expects Ukraine to be admitted to NATO within 10 years. This is simply a message in the sense that we do not know what will be in 10 years. We do not know if the war in Ukraine will definitely end in the next 10 years. Talking to anyone about accepting a war state into a military alliance is highly unresponsible, and no serious politician should service public opinion.

We besides appeal to the Polish President, the Polish Prime Minister to refrain from declaring any circumstantial deadline, any circumstantial bid to welcome Ukraine to NATO in the Polish position, in the Polish message, and to this NATO summit. due to the fact that specified declarations are in the sense of Polish public opinion and global opinion unambiguously with attempts to affect NATO and straight Poland in the ongoing war in Ukraine. And bringing into war in Ukraine is something that Poles do not want!

Unlike supporting Ukraine, due to the fact that supporting Ukraine, including military, besides financial, enjoys widespread support in Poland. On the another hand, there is no agreement that Poland should be active as a organization in the war in Ukraine, that Polish soldiers should land in Ukraine, or that our policy would provoke Russia to attack straight in the territory of the Polish State!

That is why this appeal, which is completely unrealistic, is why we know that there is no agreement from either the United States or another NATO countries, that Ukraine should be invited or accepted to NATO in any foreseeable future. We besides call for the Polish authorities to simply take a more realistic position here and 1 that will not build the impression that Poland is pushing itself to war as an active participant.
