Microsatellites with synthetic apparatus technology and multi-environment automated crisis management strategy Jasmin. We begin the presentation of defence products awarded at the XXXIII global Defence manufacture Salon in Kielce. In the case of the President, the decisive origin for awarding the award is the assessment of the degree to which the equipment or weapons in question raises the level of safety of soldiers of the Polish Army. On the another hand, the head of the MON takes into account not only operational assets, but besides the possible for improvement for national industry.

Space eyes

This year President Karol Nawrocki awarded his laur to Iceye for microsatellites with synthetic aperture technology. The reconnaissance strategy developed by engineers from the Polish-Finnish company will be utilized to equip Polish soldiers next year and will consist of 3 SAR satellites. The devices will supply advanced quality reconnaissance data. They will do so utilizing satellite antennas and modules, which were produced by specialists from Military Communications Plant No. 1.

– The optical satellite sees mainly clouds, so it must have clear sky and day for correct operation. Our solution enables reflection regardless of weather conditions, time of day, providing data in a resolution of 25 cm per pixel – explains Wojciech Maćkowski, communication specialist at Iceye.

Importantly, military satellites will be able to usage the support of another Iceye SAR satellites if necessary. Polish-Finnish company is the owner and operator of the world's largest constellation. So far it has brought almost 50 devices into orbit – for itself or its customers. The Ukrainian army has been utilizing them for 3 years.

Tested in Crisis

The second most valuable laurel of the Kielce MSPO is the peculiar Award of the Minister of National Defence. Last year it was awarded to the Łukasiewicz investigation Network – Institute of Aviation for rocket ILR – 33 Amber 2K.

This year the head of the Ministry of Defence decided that this laurel would be awarded to the Bydgoszcz company Teldat for Multi-environment Automated crisis management strategy Jasmin. The representatives of the maker remind that Jasmin is based on a solution already introduced in the Polish army, which constitutes his additional atut. As a result, it has been primed and tested at national and allied level, and with the usage of peculiar communication devices it ensures interoperability with any solution utilized in the police, fire department (state and volunteer), municipal and urban guards, energy and gas services, medical facilities or administration.

The advantages of SzK Jasmin could already be seen by Polish soldiers who utilized it during Operation Fenixand when securing a national border.
