Prime Minister Donald Tusk made an exposé this morning, which was the consequence of the motion announced in the message for a vote of confidence, announced after the second circular of the presidential election won by the PiS candidate, Karol Nawrocki.
In a speech that lasted almost an hour, the Prime Minister addressed questions of planned reconstruction of government, security, social policy, global relations and addressed the actions of the erstwhile Law and Justice Government widely.
After the Prime Minister's exposé, a evidence number of 267 questions were reported by Members. During his speech, most of the PiS Members were absent in the Sejm room, appearing alternatively at a press conference held just before the vote of assurance debate. The governing coalition criticized their absence, while PiS politicians explained on social media that they refused to perceive to – as they claimed – false statements by the Prime Minister.
After the vote, the Prime Minister acknowledged:
I needed that vote of assurance for apparent reasons. Well, you know, there's been a riff-raff, a riot, speculation, whether or not the government will last or Tuska won't overthrow. You know what I'm talking about, due to the fact that it's all in the media, and it's a bad thing to work in these conditions.
Cooperation with Nawrock and fresh spokesperson
Prime Minister Tusk, referring to his relation with president Elect Karol Nawrocki, stressed the request to clarify any irregularities related to the countdown of votes, while not questioning the result of the election itself, although there are indications of possible intentional falsifications. He announced his readiness to cooperate with the president within the limits of the constitutional competence of both parties, stressing that the agreement would be beneficial to the country and, in the event of a confrontational approach by the President, he expressed regret.
In addition, Tusk announced that a fresh government spokesperson would be announced within a week. It is to be as he described, an experienced and crucial figure in politics.
