– The last time we spoke was 3 weeks ago on the occasion of the first circular of local elections. Then, apart from the Left, all parties declared victory.
– Law and Justice came out worse than 5 years ago, but much better than was promised after the parliamentary elections. The civilian Coalition in the Seymites achieved a worse score than the PiS, but together with the coalitions it will regulation in more seismics than before. The 3rd Way is simply a actual tongue in weight. The Confederacy recorded a somewhat better score in the parliamentary elections than in the parliamentary elections. In my opinion, this group is just learning politics at local government level.
– But there was only 1 winner in the second round.
"The Civic Coalition won in the largest cities, which was no surprise. She won more than 5 years ago, and not so much at the expense of PiS, but above all alleged independent candidates who ran from their own election committees. This applies primarily to cities with about 100,000 inhabitants.
– How do I explain this?
– In tiny cities, candidates were mostly known by most residents. The voters knew their careers, had cognition of their family. This is where the candidate's personality was primarily decided. In the larger centres, the run dominated national subjects: abortion, the pill “day after”, accounting for the Law and Justice, i.e. subjects that have no connection with the activities of local governments. However, they caused emotions and attracted media attention. Without the excitement of voters, it is hard to succeed. Many of the presidents who managed the city well over the years have won, were valued by the inhabitants, thought it was adequate to win. But it turned out that it was frequently not enough.
