"Poland has a low level of drug sovereignty – only 32% of the needs are covered by national production. Experts at the European economical legislature in Katowice stressed that drug safety is simply a key component of national security. It was pointed out that there was no effective cooperation between the ministries and that a single coordination centre should be established. presently only 2% of critical medicines are produced entirely in Poland. The pharmaceutical manufacture can be a pillar of the economy, but it needs the support of the government and EU resources. It called for stronger engagement of the Prime Minister and another ministries."
