There was a defence against the enemy's forces, securing combat vehicles and resisting a fire attack. Last weekend, November 15–16, soldiers of the 62nd Battalion of the Light Infantry from Radom held two-day, intense, integrated tactical exercises. Their goal is to improve the interaction of the Territorial Defence Army with operational troops. The Territorials trained with the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade.
The training took place at the camp in Wesoła, Warsaw and included key elements of defence activities in the contemporary battlefield. During the maneuvers, soldiers trained, among others, to safe the way of crossing the tanks, a march insured with the cover of combat vehicles, to defy the enemy's fire attack, as well as to give first aid and evacuation of the injured man from the combat car. An crucial component of the training was besides the improvement of the designation and consequence to threats from the diversion and exploration groups.
“These maneuvers are not only a test of training, but above all proof of the strength of cooperation between the Territorial Defence Army and the armoured troops. In the Wesoła area, we have successfully integrated the activities of both formations, which translates into a real strengthening of security. Tactical exercises under dynamic conditions
The exercises featured modern military equipment, including M1 Abrams tanks, the Lebanian reconnaissance vehicle, as well as unmanned aircraft that supported reflection and coordination of subdivisions. The scripts assumed dynamic changes in the tactical situation, which required soldiers to communicate efficiently and to make fast decisions.
– Working side by side with the 1st Armoured Brigade is simply a valuable experience. The association of our teams, the usage of drones and support equipment has shown the importance of cooperation between different types of troops. This training was intense, but very satisfactory – says peculiar Specialist Tomasz from the 62nd Light Infantry Battalion.
Ready to carry out combat tasks
Joint maneuvers confirmed the readiness and advanced competence of the soldiers of both units. This is another step in building modern, interoperable Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, prepared for effective safety protection, capable of responding effectively to threats of the modern battlefield.
