The Territorial Defence Army launched on Sunday, October 4, 70 additional terms of training “inReadiness” and the records are conducted by the mCitizen app. More places means easier access to applicable learning to respond to the crisis. For the safety of Poland, however, the scale, quality and continuity of training are important, not political cuts.
Interest forced additional deadlines
Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defence Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka informed that earlier training dates were of specified large interest that the willing did not always find free seats. Thus, the Territorial Defence Army prepared 70 consecutive terms. Registration takes place through the mCitizen app.
That's a good signal. Poles want to gain circumstantial skills and do not intend to passively wait for the crisis. The State should support this readiness by providing available courses, efficient instructors and a clear way to further training. National defence starts with a strong army, but a resilient society is its essential facilities.
What is taught by the programme “in Preparedness”
Official description of the MON programme divide training into 2 paths. ‘Resistance’ is intended for persons without military training. Includes one-day, eight-hour safety modules, first aid, endurance and cybersecurity. Classes are practical, do not end with an exam and do not bind the associate to the work of military service.
The second path, “Reserves”, is intended to supply voluntary basic training, improvement of reserve soldiers and training of reserve officers. In 2025, more than 16,000 people participated in the pilot program. MON announced for 2026 individual training for about 30,000 adult citizens and group training for about 40,000 people.
You should be precise about that. The first aid course or cyber-hygiene increases the safety of the household and local community, but does not automatically make a trained reservist. Dispute over universal military training relates to a different level of preparation: capability to operate in the structure of the military, maintenance of equipment and regular renewal of skills. The Polish safety strategy needs both elements, and the government should clearly show how many people train in all expression and what effect it wants to achieve.
Mentzen can come. Poles request serious debate
Sobkowiak-Czarnecka added on social media that “everyone can come, Sławomir Mentzen too”, and noted that there were women among the instructors. This was a mention to the last dispute surrounding the speech of the leader of fresh Hope. The political riposta can bring coverage online, but does not answer the basic questions about Polish reserves.
Mentzen in favour of compulsory training of young PolesAnd government officials are defending a volunteer model. This dispute should be settled by numbers: mobilization needs, barracks capabilities, instructors and equipment availability. Ironically, not a single citizen can be trained.
Readyness must be turned into a permanent system
An additional 70 terms show that request for training exists. Now the state must usage this social capital. Courses should besides be available outside the largest cities, run according to uniform standards and combined with the anticipation of continuation for those wishing to enter the reserve.
For Polish families, this means a better chance to master first aid, evacuation, behaviour during alarm and data protection. For you, more is important: hundreds of thousands of citizens who know what to do, alternatively of expanding chaos. In defence, patriotism is measured by preparation. The hotel should so multiply and account for training places. Political fights can be left on organization profiles.
