Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 30.08.2026):
- During the erstwhile day, Russia continued a multi-hour drone-missile campaign, whose main goal remained Kiev and Kiev region. The wave of attacks lasted more than 28 hours, and a full of the Russians utilized over 550 drones of different types, including the Shaheds, Gerber, Banderola, and Paradiya decoys. The impacts besides included civil, energy, port and transport infrastructure in respective regions.
- The most serious single event remains the detonation of an ammunition warehouse in Myła close Kiev. The Russian drone hit a military object, which included artillery missiles, mines and drones; then there were major secondary explosions. According to the Ukrainian authorities, at least 37 people were killed and 42 were injured. At least 130 residential buildings and a wellness care facility were damaged. Due to the nature of the facility, it is hard to separate the direct effects of the Russian attack from the effects of the detonation of ammunition stored there. The Ukrainian authorities initiated proceedings concerning negligence in the retention of ammunition and ordered an audit of its retention sites. As you can see, hiding ammunition among civilian buildings begins on the Ukrainians to avenge, and propaganda depiction of specified attacks as attacks on civilians, no longer works, at least in the interior market,
- On the night of 29 on 30 August Ukrainians conducted another large wave of attacks on Russian facilities. According to Ukrainian sources and Russian local communications, the mark was, among others, a large Kinef refinery complex in Kirishach, Leningrad region. After the attack there was a fire in the industrial zone; the politician of the Leningrad Oblast informed of the shooting down of 42 drones over the region, though he did not straight confirm the refinery's hit. At the same time, an attack on the Russian air base in the Krasnodar Region was reported. Information on the harm to these objects is inactive incomplete,
- The situation of the Zaporoska atomic Power Plant remains very worrying. The facility under Russian business has been out of power for over a week and has been operating with emergency diesel generators. The IAEA stresses that all six reactors stay off, but cooling systems inactive require energy. According to the agency, the fuel supply is now adequate for about 10 days. The IAEA is trying to bring about a local ceasefire that would let for the repair of power lines,
- Ukraine achieved local success in the area of Dobropilia. Her troops moved in the area of Dorożnie to the southeast of Dobropilia, and geolocalized materials besides indicate maintaining or expanding Ukrainian positions to the west and south of Nowy Donbas. It is crucial that the direction of Dobropol is 1 of the places where the Russian offensive tries to make conditions to bypass the Ukrainian strategy of fortifications of the Slavic agglomeration,
- The Ukrainians conducted local counterattacks in the Buy and Liman directions, but without success,
- Russia continues to keep the emphasis on the northern section of the front, especially in the Suma and Kharkiv region. The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed on August 29 that it had captured Chripivszczyna and fresh Sicz northeast of Sum. The Ukrainian side traditionally denied this information,
- A new, possibly crucial channel of talks has emerged in the political sphere. According to Axios, CIA manager John Ratcliffe during his recent, undisclosed visit to Moscow was expected to present an chance to organise a Trump–Putin–Zelenski meeting. Ratcliffe was to talk to the head of Russian abroad intelligence Sergei Naryszkin and manager of the FSB Aleksandr Bortnikov. The information is crucial as it suggests an effort to break the deadlock in peace talks through the direct Washington–Moscow channel and then a gathering of leaders. However, this does not mean that Russia has accepted this formula.
