Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 09.03.2026):

  • Russia carried out a large massive air attack on Ukraine utilizing drones and rockets. The Ukrainian anti-aircraft defence declared that 453 drones and 19 missiles have been shot down, but any of the air raid measures have penetrated the defense. At least 22 infrastructure and industrial goals were hit in Ukraine.
  • One Russian ballistic rocket hit a five-story residential building in Kharkov. As a consequence of this attack, at least 11 people were killed, including 2 children, and respective people were injured. At least 19 residential buildings in the city were destroyed or damaged.
  • Russian strikes besides included Kiev, where 3 people were injured and infrastructure harm led to heating problems in many buildings.
  • The fire affected the railway and port infrastructure in central Ukraine and the Odessa area, where grain and vegetable oil warehouses were damaged. As a consequence of attacks on the power grid, the Ukrenergo operator introduced emergency power outages in 7 regions of the country.
  • During the last 24 hours, about 152 fighting clashes between Russian and Ukrainian forces were recorded throughout the front line. The top strength of fighting occurred west of Hulaipol, where Russian troops conducted about 40 assault attacks.
  • The battles besides take place on another sections of the Donbasa front and in the Kupinska and Bachmut region, where both sides carry out offensive activities.
  • The Ukrainian counter-offensive in Donbas continues, but the chances of spectacular success of the operation are diminishing.
