Lieutenant General Yuri Sodol served as Commander of the Joint Armed Forces of Ukraine from February 2024. His word of office met with large criticism from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, military and politicians. Ukrainian activist Serhij Sternenko then defined the appointment of Sodol as Joint Commander The forces as a “personal disaster”, and the Ukrainian People's typical from the People's Servant Party, Marian Bezhel, blamed him for his inappropriate defensive actions in the Kharkiv Oblast during the Russian offensive in mid-May.
