‘WOINA 1812. Quasi una fantasy" - QUIETONE, VIDEO and an account of book promotion

In Wrocław, at the Music and Literature Club on 4 September 2025, there was a gathering devoted to the book by Marek Baterowicz entitled “WOJNA 1812. Quasi una fantasy". The book was published with the support of the 2010 Solidarity Association by the AKWEDUKT Publishing Office.
The gathering was started by Natalia Tarczyńska - representing the Association of Solidarni 2010 representing an extraordinary figure of the author - Marek Baterowicz - a poet, prosaika, translator, expert in painting (impressionists) and European culture, a prominent humanist, and above all a large Polish patriot who left Poland in 1985, after 4 years of waiting for a passport - to receive the prestigious Circe Sabdia award for translating Italian poets in Italy. The journey started in Rome, then through Provence and Lourdes to Spain, ended in Madrid, where he gained asylum and spent 2 creative years. yet in 1987, he flew to Sydney, where he lives and creates until today.
An highly interesting discussion about the work of Marek Baterowicz in peculiar on his version of the War 1812 was led by prof. Dorota Heck - lecturer at the University of Wrocław (polonistics), author of books on literary criticism, prose and Polish poesy in the context of the past of ideas.
The participants in the discussion were:
Stanisław Srokowski - a writer, poet, playwright and publicist, witness to the past of tragic events during planet War II, erstwhile the east lands of the Second Republic - Kresy, were swept by a wave of genocide, carried out by Ukrainian nationalists in Poles, as well as Armenians, Czech Republic and Gypsies. In 2021, he took the statue of "Semper Fidelis" awarded to him by the IPN. He is besides the author of 1 of the first reviews of the book “WOJNA 1812. Quasi una fantasy”, which he briefly presented to the participants of the meeting
His interesting view of Napoleonic stories and stories of Marek Baterowicz was presented by Małgorzata Jaschuk-Surma, a doctor of humanities in the field of history, lecturer, Polish scholar.
Marek Dyżewski - an outstanding musician and erudite presented his extraordinary reflections related to the work of Marek Barowicz, started with Cicero to tell us what he was doing and what past teaches us, including alternate ones. Everyone agreed to Mark Dyżewski's crucial proposal to make this informative and different book "War 1812" a compulsory reading for all Polish advanced school student!
The poetic and musical subject was filled by powerfully sung strong poems by Marek Baterowicz performed by Wojciech Rohatyn Popkiewicz.

Most cordially greet and welcome from the antipodes, above the oceans, where the storm is heard murmuring... And I'm joining your spirit, close and deep... I am not only with you this evening...And especially today, due to the fact that this gathering with my version “War 1812...” Quasi una fantasy, but truly in any way that's what she might have looked like if Napoleon hadn't gone to the steppes and lost his army so thoughtlessly...
And in our history, he appeared as individual who might have had a affirmative effect on the destiny of our Homeland and then it would not be a fantasy. Unfortunately, our friendly emperor and military genius had just a period of unusual weakness, he went into a time and climate trap despite the warnings of Tsar Alexander. . This terrible interplay of events and decisions of the almost insane confused the ranks.. And he annihilated our hopes to bring out the Polish kingdom...
In 2025, however, our past was dealt with by a man from the ground hostile to us, although he was born within the borders of Poland. . But any powers of hell implanted him in a non-Polish and even anti-Polish heart! And who since 1992 jije under the mediocre scaffold of the 3rd Republic of Poland, then participated in the political abortion of the government of Prime Minister Jan Olszewski, the government which was the embryo of the Polish state, denied us at the circular table...
And from 2007 to 2010, he led us with intrigues, betrayal to tragedy, and the detonation forced us into the Smolensk mud and into fog from which we cannot leave.

This immense contrast of historical circumstances shocks me, due to the fact that I can see that at the head of this alleged IIIrd Republic a traitor was set up, he was given the portfolio of the Prime Minister, although he was known to treat Polish matters in a despicable manner during his first word and that he had quite a few blood on his hands, and that he would never wash his face out of Smolensk mud... With specified a Prime Minister Poland does not follow the way to paradise, alternatively to Hades...
And that possible is killing me... It makes me feel like Konrad, who almost blasphemed “you are not the father of the world”. .Yes, centuries have passed, but unfortunately I besides see this ominous shadow of the Tsar, who present besides bows over us! And Napoleon is no longer with us, in our small age the shadows of traitors, juries dominate. I know that Napoleon was not ideal, but in my communicative he frequently does an examination of conscience, but surviving in 1812 I would have had more hope of a revival of Poland than present seeing my country cornered from both sides, although it is said that the Ribbentrop-Molotov arrangement already exists? It was this kind of people who later agreed to service with external enemies... president Karol Nawrocki, who is our large hope for the revival of Poland, will now face this anti-Polish mass. The conflict for Poland so continues...And before that, it will be hard for the president to find a basis for restitution of rights or for revival of the massacred Constitution!
The office of traitors Tusk is now in the halo of lawlessness and impunity for everything...And our Homeland deserves to be healed! The apparent evil affects Poland, and it cannot be replaced by good? Whether to take it distant from the EU, which is said to be the guardian of democracy, possibly a “fighting” and thus mutilated democracy. . This terrible paradox could solve successfully next day most likely only Providence ...and with specified hope I end my voice from the antipodes...
