Publication of a video of police officers handcuffing a dying, stabbed 18-year-old Polish student Henry Nowak caused riots in Southampton in the south of England on Tuesday evening. Protesters of the crowd clashed with the police, throwing bricks and bottles among others.

Shocking video showing a terminally injured Polish student, the police published on Monday evening, after consulting Nowak's family.

Henry Nowak died on 3 December 2025 in Southampton from wounds stabbed by Vickrum Digwa. Upon arriving at the site of Digwa police he falsely accused Nowak of racist assault. Misleading police have arrested a bleeding 18-year-old. They ignored his words erstwhile he kept saying, "I can't breathe," and "I've been stabbed."

Polak's killer was sentenced to life conviction on Monday. He will be able to apply for parole after serving at least 21 years in prison. Digwa is simply a sikh and attacked his victim with a conventional knife, a kirpan.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the video published by police as "monster". Circumstances of intervention and action of officers are presently being investigated by an independent police supervisory authority (IOPC).

Local police apologized for the incidental last Friday, explaining that she was misled by the perpetrator of the attack.

The tragedy sparked a wide debate on British service standards. Tuesday's demonstration, activist Tommy Robinson accused the police of treating white citizens as "second category" people.
