Yesterday he graduated 105 years old p. Władysław Hi., alias ‘Wir’. End activist, tireless investigator of the tragedy of the Polish population in Volyn. For many years he has revealed and described the crimes of Ukrainian chauvinists. He is the author of the fundamental works “The crimes of Ukrainian nationalists carried out on Polish population in Volyn 1939–1945” and “The genocide carried out by Ukrainian nationalists on Polish population Volyn 1939–1945”.
Son of a Polish diplomat. He lived in Volyn from 1924 to 1944. Since September 1939 he has been a associate of the Polish independency organization Polish triumph Service (since November – Armed Combat Union). In 1940, he was sentenced to death punishment (replaced later for 10 years of camp). He was jailed in Lutsk until June 1941. In 1942–1944 he fought in the Home Army (AK) in the 27th Volynian Infantry Division. In 1945 he was arrested again by the russian authorities, handed over to Poland. He was released from prison in 1946 under amnesty. After the war, he graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Until his retirement, he worked as a solicitor. He was highly valued in his profession.
In 1984, following the publication in the diary "Nurt" of the loud text by Jerzy Tomaszewski, in which the author accused the National Army (AK) of killing Ukrainian civilians, the Kombatant environment of soldiers of the 27th Volhyńska Division of the AK began collecting witness reports on events from 1943 to 1944. The consequence of the documentary works initiated at the time was publications by Władysław Czaszko and his daughter Ewa Czaszko concerning crimes committed by Ukrainian chauvinists on Poles in Volyn. Since then, with large self-sacrifice the defenders of the Polish state and shows the cruelty of Ukrainian chauvinists.
Mr. Władysław Czasko was awarded among others: Order of the White Eagle, Commander's Cross of the Order of Polish Revival, the Cross of the National Army, the Polonia Mater Nostra Est Medal, the Prize of the curator of National Memory.

In 2013, “Think Poland” published the text of Mr.Wladyslaw Czałuszko's speech summarizing the effects of the “dialogue” of Polish and Ukrainian historians, which we remind in its entirety.
“Dear Friends!
Our business is almost over. At the end of both our activities and our lives, the environment is doomed in very crucial matters for us, for the past of the nation, for future memory. This disaster is besides a disgrace to this environment due to the fact that it is liable for it.
I mean those activities of the territory which are related to the genocide of Poles in Volyn, as well as the activities of the CNS-UPA outside Volyn. In these cases, the environment either took harmful action or did not respond properly, which was besides harmful.
Harmful actions are Polish-Ukrainian seminars "Tough Questions" which I find scandalous in the way of organizing, conducting and ending in the form of a signed protocol of arrangements and discrepancies. I have already made critical judgments about this. They are accompanied by opinions from 2 publications which I recommend: the improvement of our Kolega Leon Karłowicz entitled “Polska-Ukraine: Sad Reflections”, a peculiarly valuable publication, and a polemic between president Zygmunt Mogił-Lisowski and editor Zbigniew Lipinski and col. Andrzej Żupański, architect and manager of seminars, in “Polish Thoughts” – numbers: 10 of 10 March this year, 14-15 of 7-14 April this year, 17 of 28 April.
These materials show what has happened in general and how far from the facts different declarations and assessments of these seminars spoken by the Environment Board. And the facts are as follows (I will mention only the most important):
First. Seminars were steered by politicians and nationalist Ukrainian environments, curious in – alternatively speaking – improving the image of the CNS-UPA; their thought came from Jack Kuronia and his political circle, including the Ukrainian lobby in Poland. This is confirmed by, among another things, the congratulations letters sent to the organizers of seminars by the advanced Polish and Ukrainian offices. This thought was based on the broad participation of Ukrainian nationalist “scientists” whose task was to dismiss nationalist claims not prepared to clash with Polish scientists. This control was besides expressed by sponsorship of seminars by the Ministry of abroad Affairs and the Batory Foundation. As a result, the seminaries were subjected to insane political concepts, to bind Poland to Ukraine through the nationalist Ukrainian environments (not Ukrainian environments against nationalists). Therefore, the hidden intent of the seminars, masked by the general slogan "display the truth", under which everything can be planted, was to reduce the crimes of the CNS-UPA and to shift work for them to pre-war Poland, the emigration government, the AK, self-defense and Poles. This is why the seminar participants and the resulting content were chosen to do so.
Second. The back-up selection of speakers and participants in the discussion, mostly imposed by the Nationalist Ukrainian Union in Poland (according to the second version imposed by sponsors), thus the selection which eliminated the most uncomfortable voices for Ukrainian nationalists and politicians from the presentation and discussion. Going to the Ukrainian nationalists was so far that, according to the declaration, seminars were to be attended exclusively by scientists, the active participation of nationalist criminals was allowed: Wasyla Kuka “Łemiasz”, the last commander of UPA and Evhen Stachiwa, in 1941 conducting negotiations with Abwehra in Sulejówek, a associate of the OUN, operating in Volyn.
Third. The content of the seminars was dominated by Ukrainian nationalist interpretations of facts, lies, lies and propaganda statements which Polish historians did not know how to stand up to. Only any Polish papers or voices in the discussion were well prepared, but against the background of an aggressive nationalist campaign, alleged Ukrainian scientists did not resist, and their pronunciation drowned in suggestive undocumented Ukrainian claims, which were not broken by Polish scientists.
Little of this – final protocols of agreements and discrepancies – thanks to vague wording and understatements completely erase genocide, throw work from the CNS-UPA on Poles or on war circumstances independent of the CNS-UPA. And finally, they set Poles on an equal level with their executioners-human killers by saying about the "Polish retaliators". Fellows, this is 1 message that self-defense, guerrilla troops and the 27th Volhynia Division, besides individual Volhyniacs, all of Poland's Volhyniacs, lived in retaliation. Fellas, the author of this message is Volyniak, prof. [Wladyslaw] Pillar, and so for the Ukrainian side the most convenient situation erstwhile Volyniak himself, in addition from the 27th Division, expresses specified opinions. Fellas, we've been retaliated. This is not only against the truth, but it is in the right name of our Division, Volyniaks, Poles. It creates a base for claims of "housewar", "fraternal battles" alternatively of genocide. The same Volyniak in his paper mentions as sources of the "Polish-Ukrainian conflict" (the word genocide someway cannot come out of the pen) cases having no causal link to genocide. And that was included, thanks to Prof. Pillar in the final protocol of the arrangements.
In the final minutes discussed, the wording on the execution of Poles in Volyn and in another areas (not called genocide only losses, and without an indication who murdered) was so constructed that it follows from it that it is only Polish historians who state specified facts, while Ukrainian historians on this subject do not talk due to the fact that they do not have their research. Meanwhile, col. Żupanski pretends not to realize what was written and insists that Ukrainian historians confirmed the execution of nearly 100,000 Poles. And as the Ukrainian investigation on the subject shows, we will shortly learn from the appeal of 1 of the Ukrainian seminarians col. [Andrzej] Żupański Prof. Isajewicz to make a database that undermines the book “Lucocide...” by Hi.
Fourth. In addition, the material from the seminars was published and distributed among the mass media, politicians, historians and teachers. In the absence of another materials, conclusions are, of course, mistakenly drawn, due to the fact that the uncorrected nationalistic fact dominates them. No journalist, politician or teacher will verify the seminary materials or be able to separate lies from the truth. 1 cannot be surprised, then, that the Polish tv on the charge that in “News” a lie about the execution of 10,000 Ukrainians was given, referred to the origin of 27 Volyńska herself. A division with a comment that if her soldiers say so, it must be true.
Five. Thanks to the materials from the seminars, lies and work for the crimes of the CNS-UPA of Poland and Poles proceed to be popular. In order not to irritate the Ukrainian side, Poles adopted nationalistic vocabulary, mixed fact with lies and prepared the ground for what is presently happening in Ukraine, namely for the rehabilitation of the CNS-UPA. With this goal, Ukrainian nationalists did not hide, as the Ukrainian ambassador told Żupanski during the gathering at the embassy that Poland was expected to aid rehabilitate the CNS-UPA. And it truly helped, most of these seminars, which everyone refers to, and in which Poles themselves did not call the events of Volyn genocide only any another alternate concepts, completely not corresponding to what was accomplished. In this way, the OUN-UPA image was shaped in seminars – the only force fighting for independency of Ukraine, inadvertently active in a conflict with Poles, to which Poles led or provoked themselves.
The consequences are as follows:
In close time in Ukraine, the OUN-UPA genocidalists will be granted Kombatant privileges, as a consequence of which there will be demands for Poland to pay the Kombatant supplement to survivors of Poland. OUN-UPA Ludgicides will apply to global Kombatant organizations for admission as members of their veteran organizations. Besides, they have already performed for the global Kombatant organization in Paris.
In mention to the above, I will mention another pro-up activities of Kol. Żupański. Kol. Żupanski claimed that he sent a protest to Paris about the affiliation of the ups to global associations, but no specified protest went there and col. The Żupan text of his speech did not show anyone, nor did he publish, even in our Bulletin. So there was no protest.
Kol. Żupanski twice refused to sign on appeal to the Sejm for not condemning the shares of WIS£A. For the first time in 1990, but then he bent under force and yet signed, the second time in 1998 he refused to sign, with the support of the Management Board. In this case, the president of the planet Union of Soldiers of the AK [Stanisław] Karolkiewicz besides refused to sign for the proposition of Kol. Żupański. The Volyn territory took a akin position on UPA monuments in Poland. There were no protests, there was no force on the authorities, but there was a suspicious pact with the totally unreliable, nationalist Union of Ukrainians in Poland and signing contracts with this Union! Legally, it's worthless.
Seminars, which were already known after the first thing they lead to and what they present and can present the Ukrainian side, were stubbornly conducted. The consequence of blindness of some, and bad will of others, undertaking these projects in Volyn territory and not responding decently to lies, to nationalistic progress. And yet, as I emphasize, not individual speeches, lists of people for editorials, politicians, authorities, have an effect, but actions and protests of organizations, all the more celebrated as our Division.
The activities of the Management Board on Ukrainian affairs, and above all the president of Żupański, met with critics many times, and they were sharp, fewer members of our Environment. However, most accepted them, as Kol. Żupanski cites, reminding that the continuation of these seminars was voted positive.
So what happened was done with the hands of the people who were murdered by their loved ones, who survived the defiance, the humiliation, those who defended themselves against the genocidals of their families and their fathers. Unfortunately for this, you are besides responsible, accepted, deceived and utilized for anti-Polish work. due to the fact that there's nothing better for criminals than the passiveness of victims. Shame on your fellow Members.”
