A contract was signed to execute repairs at maintenance level P5 with modification of kind 33EC vehicles, EN97 series. shortly the full series of 14 vehicles operated by the WKD will have a fresh face, providing fresh opportunities to meet the increasing expectations of travellers as part of the transport services provided.

Over the next 3 years, the Company, whose shareholders are the Mazowieckie Region and six local governments located along the WKD route, will carry out a comprehensive repair of the P5 maintenance level, combined with a modification of the full 14 electrical traction units kind 33EC, EN97 series. The task represents another crucial step towards improving the safety and comfort of travel on the WKD line. The investment will be financed by the National Recovery and Enhancement Plan (NRP). present at the company's headquarters, WKD authorities and representatives of the contractor signed a contract for the execution of works.
The contract with the Contractor – Public Transport Service sp. z o.o. on "Repairing the 5th level of maintenance of P5 fourteen electrical traction units of kind 33WE EN97 series" was concluded as part of the implementation of task No ZT25-06962 BC. "Service for repairing the 5th level of maintenance of P5 and modification of fourteen electrical traction units of kind 33EC EN97 series", supporting investments for green urban transformation, with funds from the National Recovery and Improvement Plan (KPO) – Investment B3.4.1. EN97 series vehicles are well-known to WKD line travelers traction units, operated since 2012.
The task includes vehicle repair with modifications (as a basic order) and additional work (under the option law). The repair will be carried out in accordance with the method specifications of the vehicle maintenance strategy (DSU), the method and operational documentation (DTR) and the method conditions for implementation and reception (WTWiO).
Value of the contract concluded with the contractor PLN 309.83 million gross (this is the full value of the contract including the option law). As foreseen, all work should be completed by 28.02.2029. The first vehicle for repair will be transferred within 8 months from the date of conclusion of the contract. Subsequent vehicles will be transferred successively on the basis of a timetable established by the parties. Repair of the first vehicle will be performed not more than 11 monthsfrom the date of its transfer to repair. In turn the repair of each next vehicle will stay performed within a maximum period of 150 calendar days, from the date the vehicle was transferred to repair.
The timetable for repairing vehicles will be designed so that passengers do not feel the impact of this investment (in the course of its implementation phase) on the transport offer on the WKD line. It was assumed that there would be no more than 4 vehicles at the time of repairs.
