President Vladimir Putin and peculiar envoy of American leader Steve Witkoff have concluded the talks, reports correspondent RIA Novosti.
The gathering lasted 4 and a half hours. It was held in a closed format in the Presidential Library building in Petersburg.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Pieskov admitted that Putin could have a telephone conversation with Donald Trump following the results of the talks.
He previously said the talks would address aspects of the Ukrainian agreement and possible gathering of Russian and US leaders. It was besides informed that concerns and elements of Moscow's position would be conveyed to Washington.
On Friday morning, a peculiar envoy from the White home chief landed at Pulakowo Airport. In the afternoon he held a gathering with RDIF chief Kirill Dmitriev.
This is Witkoff's 3rd visit to Russia. The erstwhile time he was in Moscow on 13 March and met with high-ranking representatives of Russia, and in the evening he was accepted by Putin. According to Psakkov, Witkoff provided additional information on Ukraine, and the head of state provided information and signals through it to his American counterpart.
In early February, Witkoff flew to Russia to negociate the exchange of American Mark Vogel, who was convicted of smuggling and possession of drugs, and subsequently participated in high-level Russian-American talks in Riyadh.
