“ Hungary does not be economically without the European Union,” says Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz. According to the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Budapest behaves like a "Russian troll in the EU". “With respect to Russian policy, it is in Poland’s interest to exert hard force on Hungary,” stressed the Minister in the programme “Guest of Events”.
Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz was asked in the programme “Guest of Events” about the declaration of Hungary. Budapest announced that it would not agree to extend individual sanctions on Russian citizens.
– This is simply a systemic problem for Hungary, which is constantly trying to play against a coherent EU policy of imposing sanctions on Russia. Unfortunately, Hungary act like a Russian troll in the European Union and this has not happened since yesterday – said the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy.
According to Budapest, he had tried to veto economical sanctions before. – Hungary is huge dependent on the EU economyso they managed to put force on them and so they pulled the veto out. It may be possible to do so now," said Pełczyńska-Nałęcz.
- Nothing new. This is how Hungary behaves Viktor Orban. They are a Russian troll in the EU – said the Minister.
Pełczyńska-Nałęcz was besides asked whether a change in EU regulations, so that no veto would be possible, would solve the problem.
