Despite increasing concerns, the organizers of the Olympic Games, which are scheduled to take place in Brisbane in 2032, do not intend to change the location of the rowing professions. Competition is to take place on the Fitzroy River, which is simply a natural habitat of crocodiles.
Opposition to the sports environment grows – hundreds of players signed a letter in this case, indicating not only the threat from chaotic animals, but besides hard conditions on the river. Even alternate location proposals appeared.
However, the authorities stay firm. The Australian Olympic Minister declared that no alternatives to the location of the professions were needed.
The decision is yet to be formally assessed by the planet federation, but it is already visible present that image and organizational considerations are taking precedence over the concerns of athletes.
