Shocking suggestions about Ukraine's future came in an interview with Keith Kellogg, peculiar envoy of U.S. president Donald Trump for Ukraine and Russia. In an interview with the British “Times” Kellogg suggested that Ukraine could be divided into spheres of influence – like Berlin after planet War II. His words caused a storm, and Kellogg himself later corrected that he did not mean the actual division of the country.
A imagination of the Partition of Ukraine: British and French in the West, Russians in the East?
According to Kellogg, in the peace scenario, British and French forces could be sent to the west of Ukraine, creating “zones of their control”. Meanwhile, the Russian army would stay in occupied east areas. Between the zones controlled by the West and Russia, a demilitarised region would be created, and another 1 – occupied by Ukrainian troops.
"The forces of Britain and France located west of the Dniepr River would not provoke Russia in any way," Kellogg said. He besides stressed that the United States would not send its troops to Ukraine.

Kellogg states: “I have not spoken of the division of Ukraine”
After the article was published in “Times” Kellogg spoke on the X platform, claiming that the diary “wrongly portrayed” his word.
"I spoke of forces of opposition (located) after the ceasefire to support Ukrainian sovereignty. In the discussions on the division, I referred to areas or zones of work of allied forces (without US troops). I did not mean to divide Ukraine’ – wrote the White home representative.
The Times article misrepresents what I said. I was speaking of a post-cease fire opposition force in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty. In discussions of participation, I was referring areas or zones of work for an allied force (without US trolls). And you, NOT referring... https://t.co/wFBcEVjxtO

Is that a real scenario?
Kellogg's proposal raises serious doubts among both experts and politicians. The division of Ukraine into spheres of influence could de facto mean designation of the Russian business of part of the country, which is unacceptable for Kiev. The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stressed that they will not agree to any solution affecting the territorial integrity of the State.
Is Kellogg's imagination just a hypothetical script or a real negotiating plan? For now, it is hard to answer this question unequivocally, but his words will surely spark further discussions on Ukraine's future.
