Russian defence minister Sergei Szojgu in consequence to the declaration of accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO announced that the army would be enlarged to 1.5 million soldiers; however, this does not seem possible in the close word - he estimates in the latest analysis the American Institute of War Studies (ISW).
