According to unofficial reports, the case is about the alleged email scandal. The erstwhile Head of the NRP is 1 of the candidates for the European Parliament from the Lower Silesian District. The lawyer General's announcement of Friday confirmed earlier media speculations that had already appeared on Thursday.

At the time, Virtual portal Poland stated that this application concerns investigations into the email scandal, including possible abuse of powers by public officers. They utilized private email boxes for business purposes.

It is worth reminding that for respective years, screenshots with email messages that have been stolen from the private box of Michał Dworczyk, the long-time head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery during the times of the Law and Justice. There were communications on key, frequently confidential, matters of national importance. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki besides utilized a private message for correspondence.

Dworczyk surprised

On Thursday Dworzyk responded to the unofficial information about the request to waive immunity. In his entry on the X portal, he stated that 30 hours before electoral silence, he would learn from journalists close to the current power about the motion to waive his immunity. In addition, he pointed out that for almost 3 years there has been an investigation into the hacking attack on political boxes, including his own. He stressed that he had the position of a victim in this investigation.

In the following part of the entry, Dworczyk mentioned information from global cybersecurity companies specified as Mandiant, which pointed to hacker links with Belarusian and Russian services. He expressed his surprise by learning from the media that he was not treated as a victim but as a suspect.

In interpreting this as an effort to cover up dramatic events and compromising problems of present power, he described it as vindictive and cynical. At the end of his PiS policy entry, he stressed: "The fact will always defend itself at the end."
