The planned energy warehouse has obtained a 17-year contract on the power market, which will apply from 2027. This guarantees its availability and support for the strategy at times of top burden as energy request increases and RES production declines. The installation will act as a strategy buffer, facilitating the operation of the operator and improving the national power balance.

The facility will be based on the Smartstack platform, allowing to collect energy at low wholesale prices and put it on the grid in highest request hours. This will increase the efficiency of the full system, reduce the hazard of overload and stabilise energy prices. The task besides envisages the usage of advanced cybersecurity mechanisms, which, in the face of expanding attacks on critical infrastructure, is crucial for the stableness of the CSE.

The planned warehouse will be able to operate in island mode and supply power during the crash, which will increase the resilience of both the region and the full country to the blackouts.

Who's Achmetov?

DTEK and DRI already have experience in carrying out akin investments. Only a twelve days ago, the parent company launched a battery strategy with a power of 200 MW in Ukraine, located in six locations and based on Fluence technology. Its task was to increase the resilience of the power grid there to another winter and to attacks against critical infrastructure, which have been a major threat since 2022.
